KHE Release 24" Park Tire, 480g!
April 23, 2008Published by sepiAfter the unprecedented success and demand for their superlight 20" Folding BMX Tyres KHE have now transferred this technology into 24" versions, much to the joy of many mountain bikers!
The 24" Mac2 Park Tyres will be available in a couple of weeks and look set to be hot items this Summer! Weighing in at an unbelievable 480g these superlight tyres are 55mm wide, have a Kevlar sidewall and are able to hold up to 8Bar in pressure. They are described as the perfect tyres for Skateparks whilst keeping the bike lightweight. These tyres dramatically reduce the weight of your bike (which can be immediately felt as it is rotating weight that is being shaved off!). Just ask any local BMX'er that has used KHE folding tyres! A quick comparison against other popular tyres shows just how light they are: KHE Mac2 Park 24" 480g Schwalbe Table Top 24" Folding 560g Schwalbe Crazy Bob 24" 950g Maxxis Holy Roller 24" 620g Maxxis High Roller 24" 1150g Maxxis Hookworm 24" 1000g DMR Moto RT 24" 760g I predict that these will be just as big in mountain biking as with BMX, where weight now plays a major role in the 'development' of bikes and breaking the limits that riders face day to day! The KHE Mac2 Park 24" Folding tyres will come in at £37.50 (RRP) in the UK and around $70 USD and $80 CAD www.khebikes.com Pin it! -Sepi |

£37.50 each?!
yeah 37 quid, theyre folding and their about the same price as tabletops. im just worried theyll puncture easy.
they prob dont make them in 26" because you also get 24" bmx aswell as mtb. and generally if you have 24" wheels youll use them for dirt/street/park and if you have 26" youre likely to be doing dh or xc, if you get what i mean

yeah i know. but if you have 24" you definately will be riding either dirt/street/park so the market for 24" slick tyres is an easy one. 26" wheels are used for all sorts aswell as dirt and street and arent as specific to that sort of riding as 24". if you know what i mean...
i have the 20" on my bmx and there are super light but if u run over a sharp rock they are finished they get made bulges
agreed...
its overpriced, overated and seriously you save like 100grams from tabletops... but u pay a sh*tload more... no point i reckon

WTF, stupid hookworms weight 1000g for 24", that means I got more than 2000g on my bike, I hope KHE is going to come out with 26" soon
k rads are awesome they are a good tire, they have been on everystreet bike ive ever had, they are nice and cheap but thats also why you get 2 months out of them before they blow up on you. this tire up above i bet will be great for park things will be nice and smooth and you will be able to cruise around really fast.
notice how they compare weights between a 24in and a bunch of 26in
whitch do you think would be lighter?

Its a tyre!it will be similar to most slicks probably just feel a little nicer every now and then, but that little bit nicer aint worth the extra money,i'd be very surprised if (seeing as people go through tyres a fair bit on street etc) people will be willing to spend nearly 80 pounds a set of tyres that will do the exact same job a 30 pound set of tyres would do that are also more resistant to punctures,Before everyone slates my point,im not syaing these tyres won't be good,im sure they'll be very popular,i just personally think what you can do on these tyres you could pretty much do on another cheaper slick tyre.
Hi joekb.
I understand your point but it is exactly the same argument that we heard from a few BMX'ers just before the 20" tyres came out and judging by thei popularity was proved to be inaccurate almost immediately. This is because the weight saving is so significant as it is rotating weight and is instantly noticeable.
